Stanley Cup Final Golden Knights vs. Panthers prop bets, Game 3: Fade Vegas’ Pietrangelo

The Florida Panthers look to rebound at home after back-to-back losses to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The pregame narrative: Alex Pietrangelo is failing to find the stat sheet, making him an excellent fade candidate in Game 3. Mark Stone is beating his shot prop with regularity, hence why we’re looking to wager on the over in that market. Thirdly, William Karlsson has been quiet and that should continue.

Golden Knights vs. Panthers prop bets

Best Bet : Pietrangelo to not score 1+ point (-130)

The Golden Knights are supplying plenty of offence in the Stanley Cup Final, but Pietrangelo isn’t factoring in on any of it.

Vegas has scored 12 goals through two games in this series and the star blueliner has zero points.

This trend extends beyond this series, too, as Pietrangelo is pointless in five consecutive games.

A quick look at his game log will uncover a pretty drastic split. The rearguard had six points through his first nine games this postseason. That number drops to three over his last nine games, and there’s one easy explanation for that.

Vegas removed Pietrangelo from the top power-play unit after his suspension against the Edmonton Oilers. He had three power-play points in his first nine games of the playoffs and zero across his last nine.

Key stat: Pietrangelo has zero points in four games against the Panthers dating back to the regular season.

Quick picks

Stone over 2.5 shots (+105) : Florida is the premier matchup for shot props, as no team has allowed more shots per game (36.6) than the Cats this postseason. With Stone excelling for the Golden Knights, he’s the right guy at the right line.

Stone leads this series in shots with 10, cashing this wager in both games. He actually has three shots or more in four consecutive contests.

Leading all Vegas forwards in average ice time (20:12) during the Stanley Cup Final, there should be plenty of opportunities for the talented winger to put pucks on goal.

Karlsson to not score 1+ point (-114) : Karlsson is a fantastic player, but the Golden Knights are so deep that his usage isn’t as high as many expect.

The speedy centreman is only averaging 14:35 in average ice time in this series, the sixth-fewest of any player on Vegas. As a result, he only has one point and three shots to his name despite his team’s offensive success.

Playing outside the top-six forwards and off of the top power-play unit, we’re fading Karlsson.
