Every year there is a Gingerbread House Auction and “Tour of Homes”. Over the past 5 years, the auction has grown in popularity and has become one of the “sites to see” as visitors to downtown are enjoying the Christmas Holiday festivities in downtown Brenham. Over the years the auctions have raised close to $30,000 for Washington County Habitat for Humanity (about half a house!!!).

The 2011 Gingerbread auction took place on December the 5th in the Unity theater and raised some $7400.
