Manchester City and Inter Milan meet up in a Champions League final ripe with storylines.

The pregame narrative: City already won the Premier League and FA Cup and can now become the second English club to secure a European treble. Inter, meanwhile, look to bring the trophy back to Italy for the first time in 13 years. We’re expecting both teams to bring offence on Saturday.

Champions League final picks

Best Bet : Both teams to score (-113)

Each of the past four Champions League finals has involved a shutout, but that’s not going to discourage us from backing both teams to score.

Manchester City boasts the best offence in all of Europe but Inter is also in great form lately. The Italian team has scored in 13 consecutive games and is averaging 2.46 goals per game in that span. The Nerazzurri have scored in each of their past four Champions League games and in nine of 12 overall.

Inter also had the second-most goals in Serie A (71) to pair with the highest shot attempts per 90 (16.45), according to FBRef.

As for City, they scored a Premier League-best 2.47 goals per game and have found the net in all but one of their past 27 games. That was in their final EPL match of the season when the title was on lock and Pep Guardiola decided to rest Ilkay Gundogan, Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, among others.

The Sky Blues have scored a Champions League-leading 30 goals and have scored in seven straight UCL games.

The biggest threat to this bet is probably Manchester City’s defence. The team allowed less than a goal per game (0.87) in the Premier League and has seven UCL shutouts. With that said, they’ve allowed a goal in three straight.

Key stat: In three of Inter’s last four games, both teams have scored.

Quick picks

Inter Milan over 8.5 shots (-137) : Manchester City have allowed a Champions League-best 8.17 shots per game but that number is largely influenced by a dominant group stage where they held opponents to 6.16 shots per game.

City have allowed 12.5 shots per game over their past four UCL games, with opponents clearing this line three times.

We already mentioned that Inter led Serie A in shots per game (16.45). The Nerazzurri have cleared this line in 12 of their past 13 games, including three straight UCL games.
