Brampton house fire leaves one adult dead, two more in life-threatening condition

Peel Regional Police said emergency services were called to Jayfield Road and Jade Crescent shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday.

One adult is dead and two more people, including a child, are in the hospital after a two-alarm fire broke in a Brampton home Friday night.

Peel Regional Police said crews were dispatched to Jayfield Road and Jade Crescent at around 10:56 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located two adults and a child in the house. All were rushed by paramedics to a nearby trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday morning, police confirmed one of the adults, a woman, was pronounced dead at the hospital after succumbing to his injuries. No further updates have been provided in the condition of the other two victims.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the friends and family impacted by the Jade Crescent fire,” Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes said.

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said the flames were under control shortly after midnight. Primary and secondary searches were also completed, but there is no word out yet on the circumstances surrounding the fire.

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been appointed for the investigation.
